Arcvel
Thermal spray / surface engineering

Experience

Arcvel Engineering works in coating and thermal spray operations, backed by nearly 15 years of metallurgical engineering and hands-on shop experience. Support is provided on-site to facilities across Canada and the United States to address production, quality, and equipment challenges.

Thermal Spray

Work covers high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF), air plasma spray (APS), flame spray, and twin wire arc spray (TWA). Coating parameters are developed and application processes are qualified to meet industrial and OEM requirements.

This includes surface preparation such as blasting and shot peening, where process control is required to achieve coating adhesion and fatigue performance.

Operations

Experience includes direct shop supervision and responsibility for day-to-day production environments. This includes coordinating workflows, maintaining equipment, and supporting installation and troubleshooting of thermal spray systems.

Work is carried out alongside operators and supervisors, maintaining process stability and coating quality under production conditions.

Quality

Work includes ISO 9001 internal audits and support of certification reviews. Coating quality is evaluated using metallography, microscopy, and inspection methods appropriate to the process and application.

Operational Impact

Focus is placed on stabilizing underperforming operations and improving repeatability in production. This includes refining workflows, correcting process issues, and working directly with operators to ensure improvements hold.

Support also includes sourcing parts and components required to maintain production capability.
